Since he now had a surplus of rum, he had to figure out a way to sell it and sell it fast. He mixed the rum with passionfruit juice and added in a hint of lemon juice. He then served it in a glass that looked like a “hurricane lamp,” ultimately getting its iconic name of the Hurricane drink, according to hgtv.com.
