Thanksgiving is full of traditions. However, those traditions do not always surround food. People all over the United States turn out in droves for 5k races known as Turkey Trots, to get the metabolism flowing before feasting. There are lots of Turkey Trots in Southwest Florida to get you out and moving. You’ll find a few of the biggest ones listed here.
One of the biggest races is put on by the Fort Myers Track Club. It begins and ends at the Edison and Ford Winter Estates in downtown Fort Myers.
Another major race is held in Port Charlotte and it’s the only one where runners get to chase a turkey riding a bike. Unfortunately, that race has been canceled due to hurricane damage. Find the details below.
