The US Navy Prefers Xbox Over PS4
The first question is why they went with the Xbox 360 controller instead of Xbox One? The controllers didn’t really change a lot I guess and maybe you could get the 360 controller cheaper at Wal-Mart. That’s if we assume the US Navy shops for parts at Wal-Mart. Here’s the story:
The Navy’s new $2.8 billion attack submarine uses 12 year-old Xbox 360 controllers to maneuver its masts. The USS Colorado originally had $38,000 joysticks before designers swapped them out for the $40 Xbox controllers. The 377-foot sub will go into service on Saturday.
I’m firmly in the Playstation camp, but you do you Navy.
And just to ruin any of those, “Hey what a great idea” comments that might come from this. Remember the car in Men In Black 2 was driven using a Playstation 2 controller. But that car couldn’t fire Tomahawk missiles.
