Demi Lovato Rejected Help Weeks Before, Found Unconscious In Her Bed After Party
After news dropped Tuesday that Demi Lovato had been hospitalized for an overdose, fans rushed to Twitter with thoughts and prayers.
Lovato was scheduled to be performing alongside The Chainsmokers at the Atlantic City Beach Fest Concert Series, but she had to cancel her appearance due to hospitalization.
According to E! News, Demi is awake, and her family has thanked everyone who sends their support. It is also noted that the original report from TMZ saying that Demi overdosed on heroin is false, with the rep saying, “Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now.”
Sources close to Demi Lovato have told the press that they tried to stage an intervention to help Demi, but she was reluctant to hear their advice.
The intervention was unsuccessful due to Demi telling her team that everything was fine.Demi was found unconscious in her bed Tuesday morning after a long night of partying.
A panicked assistant called 911 after she found Demi unresponsive in her bed around 11am. When EMT arrived they determined it was an overdose and administered Narcan on the former Disney star.
Demi declined to admit what, if any, drug or drugs she had taken.
We have also learned that Demi split from her longtime manager months before the overdose. The reason for the split in unknown but her manager, Phil McIntyre, did have a hand in the intervention efforts.
