New Law Could Require Booster Seats Up To Age 12
A new law in Washington state could keep some children using booster seats all the way up to age 12.
The recently-passed House Bill 1012 enforces stricter regulations that require car seats for any child under 4 foot 9, up to 12 years old. The law also requires children under 2 to use rear-facing car seats and all children under 13 to stay in the back seat. The bill is currently awaiting the signature of Governor Jay Inslee. If signed, the new laws would go into effect next year.
Do these rules go too far? How long did your children use a booster seat?
