Jay-Z Pays Tribute to Nipsey Hussle, Disses ‘Avengers’ During Webster Hall Show
Jay-Z performed “B-Sides” at the newly renovated Webster Hall in New York Friday night.
The hall had been closed for a year and a half for renovations. Jay-Z thanked the crowd, thank you all for being here, this means a lot to me. I know the Avengers is playing in a theater down the block and all but the Avengers aren’t even real. The venue holds 1,400 making it an extremely intimate performance and probably Jay-Z’s most intimate in years when you consider how many stadiums he has performed in. Jay-Z paid tribute to Nipsey Hussle during his performance. Gentrify your own hood before these people do it/claim eminent domain and have your people move in/that’s a small glimpse into what Nipsey was doing/for anybody still confused as to what he was doing. Jay-Z has evolved over the years into a much more self-aware rapper and less bragging about material things.
How do you feel about Jay-Z’s growth and evolution?
