According to Flight Aware, a Delta flight full of passengers from Atlanta plunged nearly 30,000 feet.

Passengers described panic in Tweets as they grabbed for oxygen masks on board a Delta flight.

According to the website, the plane descended from 39,000 feet to 10,000 feet in fewer than seven minutes.

The plane was diverted to Tampa International Airport Wednesday night, where mechanics were working to figure out what went wrong.
