UPDATE: 11/14/2019 3:40 PM ET: Two students at a Santa Clarita, Calif. high school have died after a fellow student opened fire inside the school.

Per ABC News, Buzzfeed News and the Los Angeles Times, three other students were injured in the shooting at Saugus High School. The suspect has been taken into custody by local authorities at a nearby hospital. He is currently in serious condition as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

ORIGINAL STORY

There was just a school shooting at Saugus High School, about 30 miles north of Los Angeles, reports CNN.

CNN reports that six have been taken to the hospital.

The shooter is currently in custody, and the weapon has been recovered. They are unsure if only one weapon was used.

CNN also adds that students at Saugus High School have previously practiced active shooter drills in school. One student talks about the incident, saying, "We weren't by a classroom, but we couldn't run over there because we thought he was over there. We ran through the fence, luckily it was open, and we got as far away from campus as we could. We just kept running because we didn't know where he was. We learned just to run."
