Presidential hopeful Elizabeth Warren is supporting Taylor Swift in her fight against her former label, Big Machine Label Group.

Warren retweeted Taylor’s post about “not knowing what to do” about her being restricted from performing her old music. “Unfortunately, @TaylorSwift13 is one of many whose work has been threatened by a private equity firm, they’re gobbling up more and more of our economy, costing jobs and crushing entire industries. It’s time to rein in private equity firms—and I’ve got a plan for that,” Warren tweeted.

Taylor’s catalog of music was sold to Scooter Braun after BMLG owner, Scott Borchetta sold it to the music manager without Taylor’s knowledge earlier this year.

Borchetta and Braun say that Taylor “owes them millions” and insist they’ve never said that Swift couldn’t perform her music and have honored all of her requests to do so.
