Tekashi69 to Remain in Jail, Judge Denies Request For Release

Judge Engelmayer acknowledged that the rapper did a good thing by cooperating with the feds. However, he doesn't believe that 13 months in jail is a harsh enough sentence for Tekashi69.
"I cannot agree with your counsel that time served is appropriate," Judge Engelmayer said.
Although previous reports were published alluding that the Brooklyn native will be released on a time served verdict, Tekashi69 will remain in jail. According to TMZ, Judge Engelmayer gave him a two year sentence, and he has already served 13 months of that. In other words, Tekashi will be out by late 2020. Once released from prison, he'll be on supervised release for 5 years and will have to complete 300 hours of community service and pay a $35,000 fine.
