A Florida Senate health committee on Tuesday gave its unanimous approval to a new bill that seeks to raise the legal age from 18. If approved, the bill will also make smoking in or near public schools a crime.
Although the federal government raised the national smoking age to 21 in December, individual states have continued playing by their own rules.
If people become legal adults at 18, is it fair to deny them certain things until they're 21?
