Tonight, Parks and Recreation fans got a nice surprise: Amy Poehler announced on the show's Facebook page that the cast will reunite for a new episode next week.

Airing Thursday, April 30 at 8:30 p.m. on NBC, A Parks and Recreation Special will feature the main cast: Amy Poehler, Rashida Jones, Aziz Ansari, Nick Offerman, Aubrey Plaza, Chris Pratt, Adam Scott, Rob Lowe, Jim O’Heir, and Retta. The 30-minute special's story takes place in the present. According to NBC, "Pawnee’s most dedicated civil servant, Leslie Knope, is determined to stay connected to her friends in a time of social distancing."

Entertainment Weekly reports that the special will raise funds for Feeding America’s COVID-19 Response Fund, which aids food banks across the nation serving vulnerable members of the community. $500,000 in matching donations will be made by State Farm, Subaru of America, NBCUniversal and the Parks writers, producers, and cast members.

Brian has been working in pop culture and media for about three decades: he’s worked at MTV, VH1, SiriusXM, CBS and Loudwire. Besides working as a writer and an editor-in-chief, he’s also appeared on air as a pundit, guested on radio shows and hosted podcasts. Over the years, he’s interviewed the surviving members of Led Zeppelin, the members of U2, Beyonce, Pink, Usher, Stevie Nicks, Lorde… and is grateful to have had the chance to interview Joe Strummer of the Clash and Tom Petty.
