This, according to a poll done in Japan by Panasonic, shows now that men are spending more time at home due to work from home changes, they have become concerned about stains on and around the toilet. To break it down, Japanese men want to keep the bathroom cleaner since they're home more often.
The survey was conducted in August of 2020 and showed that 70 percent of men sat during urination, compared to a similar survey conducted 5 years ago which showed 51 percent.
The survey showed that because the men were spending more time at home they were more aware of the mess made due to splashing, which altered their behavior.
It's also noted that this poll was done in Japan and may not reflect behavior here in the United States.
