At an official Supernatural convention in East Brunswick, New Jersey, on Sunday, Jensen Ackles said that his co-star Jared Padalecki is "lucky to be alive," following a very serious car accident.

Ackles said, "I miss my buddy," per People. "He sends his love. I spoke with him yesterday. He's sad he can't be here." He noted that his former co-star had given him permission to share this information. "He was in a very bad car accident. He wasn't driving, he was in the passenger seat, and he's lucky to be alive. And not only that...he's a home recovering which — the fact that he's not in a hospital right now is blowing my mind because I saw the car."

Ackles didn't say when the accident occurred, but last week, Padalecki tweeted to fans that he wasn't going to be at the event.
