The author got candid on how she deals with the scrutiny the couple have faced over the years in a new interview with The New York Times titled: "Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt’s Picture-Perfect Life."
"I see what people say," Katherine, 33, said. "But I just know that it's so far from the reality." The daughter of of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver noted that how she views online criticism stems from growing up with a famous family (Shriver is part of the Kennedy family). Katherine explained that it wasn't easy "growing up, hearing people say certain things about my parents, my siblings, my extended family." She said her mom's advice was to avoid the pitfalls of attempting to set the story straight.

The Guardians of the Galaxy actor, whom she wed a year after his divorce from Anna Faris in 2019, spoke of his own feelings in responding to critics last June. Specifically, he reflected on the backlash he faced after users found a November 2021 Instagram post praising Katherine after the birth of their daughter Lyla, now 2, to be insensitive to ex-wife Anna Faris and their son Jack, 10, who was born seven weeks premature and faced health concerns as a result.
"I said something like, ‘Find someone who looks at you the way my wife looks at me,'" he told Men's Health at the time. "And then I gave her some s--- in the thing and said, ‘But I love you. I'm so thankful for my wife—she gave me a beautiful, healthy daughter.' And then a bunch of articles came out and said, ‘That's so cringeworthy. I can't believe Chris Pratt would thank her for a healthy daughter when his first child was born premature. That's such a dig at his ex-wife."
Katherine Schwarzenegger's latest book, Good Night, Sister, was released this week.
Fans Rally Behind Anna Faris as Ex Chris Pratt Praises New Wife
Chris Pratt took to Instagram this week in a seemingly "sweet" post to his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, but the Guardians of the Galaxy star couldn't help but note his daughter's great health.
"Guys. For real. Look how she’s looking at me! I mean. Find you somebody that looks at you like that!! You know!? We met in church," Pratt wrote. "She’s given me an amazing life, a gorgeous healthy daughter, she chews so loudly that sometimes i put in my ear buds to drown it out, but that’s love! She helps me with everything. In return, periodically, I open a jar of pickles. That’s the trade. Her heart is pure and it belongs to me. My greatest treasure right next to my Ken Griffey Jr Upper Deck Rookie card. Which if you know, you know is saying a lot. It’s her birthday in about 6 weeks. So if I don’t get her anything, I’ll tell her to look back on this post. Love you honey. ❤️❤️"
Cringe Post
Pratt's comment on having a "gorgeous healthy daughter," all while he shares a son with health issues with his ex-wife of nine years did not go unnoticed on social media:
The Real Political Divide

Find Someone Who Looks At You Like This
Taking a shot at Pratt's "Look how she's looking at me! I mean. Find somebody that looks at you like that!!," one Twitter user said Pratt can keep his "amazing wife and her Stepford wife stare. I'll focus on Anna Faris and her adoration for her beautiful boy."
