Mariah Carey Announces Christmas Shows
The self-proclaimed “Queen of Christmas” announced the return of her Christmas tour. Mariah Carey announced on her official social media accounts Monday (October 2): “Yes, the actual defrosting has begun! Announcing the MERRY CHRISTMAS ONE AND ALL Tour!” Tickets for the North American tour go on sale this Friday, October 6. She will kick off the tour on November 15 in California, with 13 dates total. Carey, 54, will close out the tour in her home state of New York on December 17. The singer accompanied her announcement with a scroll posted to her Instagram Stories set with the background of her no.1 Christmas hit from 1994, “All I Want For Christmas,” addressed to “All the nice or naughty lambs.” She writes in her decree: “Darlings, Christmas is right around the corner. You’re officially invited to celebrate the return of my holiday extravaganza — Merry Christmas One And All!”

Carey is no stranger to doing it big around the holiday season. In 2014, she had a six-night residency called “All I Want for Christmas Is You: A Night of Joy and Festivity” at NYC’s Beacon Theatre. She celebrated the 25th anniversary of her album Merry Christmas two years later with the NYC residency before expanding it into a European tour. In 2020, she released Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special on Apple TV+ with the accompanying single “Oh Santa!” featuring Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson.
Last year, Carey filmed the CBS special Mariah Carey: Merry Christmas to All! during a performance at New York’s Madison Square Garden that featured appearances from Drew Barrymore and Billy Porter. Mariah also released a children’s book last November 1 titled The Christmas Princess, which features the theme of bullying. Taking real-life experiences of when she was growing up in Long Island, New York, Carey used those tough but valuable life lessons as inspiration in her fairy tale book.
