Harry Styles performs on stage during The BRIT Awards 2023 at The O2 Arena on February 11, 2023 in London, England.

Harry Edward Styles was born on February 1, 1994, in Worcestershire, England. As a child, Harry sang covers on a karaoke machine. The first song he recorded on the karaoke machine was Elvis Presley’s “The Girl of My Best Friend,” according to E! News.

From One Direction to a Wondrous Direction

Following a suggestion from his mother, Styles auditioned as a solo contestant for the British singing competition The X Factor in 2010. “People tell me I’m a good singer. It’s normally my mum,” the 16-year-old said at the time. “Singing is what I want to do, and if people who can make that happen for me think I shouldn’t be doing that, then it’s a major setback in my plans.” Singing a rendition of Train’s “Hey, Soul Sister” at first, Simon Cowell suggested that the track wasn’t right for him. He then performed an a cappella rendition of Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely” and advanced to boot camp but failed to progress further. Four others in his age group who were also eliminated were put together to form a band later that year to compete in the “Groups” category, mentored by Cowell. The group consisted of Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik. Styles suggested the name One Direction. “I thought it sounded good,” he recalled on CBS Sunday Morning in 2017. His suggestion “kind of stuck, and that was what it was.” The group finished in third place on The X Factor.

With their X Factor exposure, the boy band quickly became popular in the UK before becoming the platinum-selling, world-renowned boy band that they became. Since the band went on an indefinite hiatus in 2015, Styles has produced three chart-topping studio albums and launched his acting career. In 2017, Styles dropped his self-titled debut studio album with the track “Sign Of The Times.” His second album, Fine Line, was released two years later with the tracks “Lights Up” and “Watermelon Sugar.” In between making albums, Styles made his acting debut in Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk. In 2021, he made an appearance in Marvel’s Eternals, followed by two starring roles in films in 2022: Don’t Worry Darling and My Policeman. His third studio album, Harry’s House, was released that same year with tracks like “As It Was” and “Music for a Sushi Restaurant.”

Take a look below at Harry Styles’ 7 sexiest lyrics:

  • 'Watermelon Sugar'

We all know by now that the song is an innuendo for the female orgasm. With the opening lines, “Tastes like strawberries on a summer evenin’ and it sounds just like a song. I want more berries and that summer feelin’. It’s so wonderful and warm.” Styles said the track from his Fine Line album is “kind of about that initial euphoria of when you start seeing someone, you start sleeping with someone or just being around someone and you have that excitement about them.” He dedicated the music video to “touching.”

  • 'Fine Line'

The track of the same name of his sophomore album, “Fine Line” has Styles singing: “You sunshine, you temptress, my hand’s at risk, I fold. Crisp trepidation, I’ll try to shake this soon. Spreading you open is the only way of knowing you.” His airy singing and ethereal instrumentation is giving Bon Iver vibes as he evokes the highs and lows of love. It is fittingly the last song of the album and although it can be a sad song, it is also very raw in emotion.

  • 'Adore You'

From his sophomore album, Harry defiantly sings, “Oh, honey, I’d walk through fire for you. Just let me adore you, like it’s the only thing I’ll ever do.” The track features Harry speaking about his love and passion for a significant other, and the extent to which he would do things for his lover. He previously explained in an interview that the track is about “that initial infatuation stage when you get that heavy feeling of just bliss, like a blissful, very joyous connection with someone.”

  • 'Kiwi'

In this hard rock track from his debut album, Harry belts, “She’s driving me crazy, but I’m into it. But I’m into it, I’m kinda into it. It’s getting crazy, I think I’m losing it. I think I’m losing it, oh, I think she said.” He said, “As one of the first ones I wrote for the album, it includes lyrics about cigarettes, liquor, a femme fatale, and a one night stand. He later said that “it started out as a joke, now it’s one of my favorite songs.”

  • 'From the Dining Table'

In this acoustic track from his debut self-titled album, Harry sings, “Woke up alone in this hotel room, played with myself, where were you? Fell back to sleep, I got drunk by noon. I’ve never felt less cool.” The song is somber and filled with longing as the musician sees the person he loved move on to someone else. He said the song was the most personal to him and his favorite one off the album.

  • 'Cinema'

In this funky, sexy track from Harry’s House, Harry sings, “I guess we’re in time if you’re getting yourself wet for me. I guess you’re all mine. You’re sleeping in this bed with me.” The song is about the early, uncertain phase of a relationship. He worries he isn’t cool enough for the person he is with and is nervous that he might come on too strong. By the end of the song, Styles finds his confidence and basks in the happiness of mutual affection and great sex. The track is widely speculated to be about his ex, Olivia Wilde, who he met on the set of the film, Don’t Worry Darling.
