Florida Man Arrested After Stealing An iPhone From Realtor
A Florida Man from Collier County apparently was unaware that phones can be tracked after he was busted stealing an iPhone from a Naples, Florida real estate office.
On Tuesday July 16th, an employee of Berkshire Hathaway Real Estate on 5th Ave South contacted the Naples Police Department. It appeared that someone stole their Apple I-Phone from the business. The victim advised the suspect entered the business saying they were a customer interested in buying a home. The suspect concealed the victim’s I-Phone in sales literature taken from inside the business and left the area.
Detectives utilized electronic investigative techniques to locate the victim’s Apple I-Phone at the Humble Bee Boutique on Pine Ridge Road in Naples. Apparently this Florida Man doesn’t know rule one about stealing an iPhone. If they’re on, they can be tracked. Also, the Humble Bee Boutique is a women’s fashion store – what are you doing?
How To Get Caught Stealing An iPhone
Naples Police Detectives along with Collier County Deputies observed Joshua Benjamin Langford, 31, of
unincorporated Collier County, exiting the store. An audible ping alert was sent to the Apple I-Phone revealing the cellular phone was concealed on Langford’s person. Langford was taken into custody without incident, placed under arrest for grand theft, and transported to the Collier County Jail.
To all would-be criminal minded Florida Men considering stealing an iPhone: it’s not a great idea. A lot of people have their phones paired with other devices which makes tracking them – pretty easy.
