Summer is officially here and a study looked into each state's preferred Summer travel destinations.

If you have a trip planned or maybe need some vaca inspo, Zippia looked through Google Trends data to figure out which international destination was most popular in each state.

Mexico is the most popular travel destination for Americans in 2022 and it is #1 overall in New Mexico, Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Wyoming, Oregon, Montana, Oklahoma and West Virginia.

Canada is also pretty popular being #1 in Connecticut, Florida, Nevada, Tennessee and Pennsylvania.

Both North and South Dakota have the most interest in visiting the Bahamas, but it's also #1 in Nebraska, Maine, Vermont, New Jersey and Utah.

Jamaica is #1 for those in Arkansas, Kansas, New Hampshire, Delaware, Maryland and Mississippi.

Aruba has found itself as the #1 destination for Michigan, Indiana, Rhode Island and Georgia.

Dominican Republic is a preferred destination for Iowa, Missouri, Louisiana and Alabama.

Californians, Texans, Ohioans and Virginians are planning to spend their vacation in Germany.

Italy is the main draw for people in New York, Minnesota, Illinois, Kentucky and South Carolina.

The states that has the most interest in visiting the UK this summer are Massachusetts, North Carolina and Washington.

Spain is #1 in Arizona, Wisconsin and Colorado
