The holidays are a great time to be charitable. There are many famous athletes who donate their time and money to important causes.

Serena Williams has done a lot of work to help other people. Her foundation, the Serena Williams Fund, helps women and girls have more opportunities. She has also given money to help after disasters like Hurricane Katrina, the Haiti earthquake, and Hurricane Dorian. In 2018, she gave $1 million to help people in the Bahamas after Hurricane Dorian caused a lot of damage.

The Players’ Tribune is a media outlet that allows athletes a voice to share their stories. Derek Jeter is its CEO and co-founder. In 1996, Jeter created the Turn 2 Foundation, an organization devoted to assisting young people in abstaining from drugs and alcohol. To far, the Foundation has given out more than $20 million in grants, and Jeter has personally given the organization more than $4 million.
