Here are your Weekend Vibes, what’s happening in Southwest Florida April 28-30. It’s the last weekend of April. The days are getting longer and the temperatures are starting the trek up the thermometer. At last check red tide levels were mostly low up and down the coast of Southwest Florida so perhaps it’s time to get back to the beach. Remember, a majority of beaches in the the area still don’t have all amenities and services restored following Hurricane Ian. So pack your beach bag accordingly.

If you love exploring the treasures found in food trucks, you wont want to miss War of the Food Trucks on Saturday. It’s at The German American Club on Pine Island Road in Cape Coral. scroll down for more details. Also find a few more outdoor music events as well as a taco triathalon on the weekend calendar.

It’s been 7-months since Ian hit and sometimes it still feels like yesterday. While things slowly get better, there is still so much need in our area. We understand things are still challenging for many many people. If you feel like getting out and about, we have a few ideas here. But then again, if you are not feeling so great mentally that is OK. Please take care of yourself. Here are some resources that might help.

  • War Of The Food Trucks

    It’s the largest food truck competition and charity fundraiser on the west coast of Florida according to organizers. At the German American Social Club in Cape Coral Saturday 11-7. Sample food from more than 40 food trucks, all competing for cash awards, prizes and bragging rights. Live music includes performances by The Ben Allen Band. There is all kinds of fun in store for the entire family. Best of all, the proceeds go to local charities. $10

  • Celebrate Bonita

    Celebrate Bonita is an annual event at Riverside Park in Bonita Springs.  There will be food and lots of live music. The show begins Saturday 6 p.m. It’s a family friendly, free event.

  • John Waite Concert On The River

    Friday night in downtown Fort Myers John Waite is performing at the Coloosa Sound Amphitheater. The show featuring the English rocker kicks off at 7pm. Tickets start at $20

  • Empty Bowls

    This is an annual fundraiser for Communitive Cooperative in Fort Myers. Sample soup from a number of restaurants and check out the soup cook off. One of the signatures of this event is handmade ceramic bowls to use while sampling. They’re made by local kids. There will be live entertainment and food other than soup if you so desire. The fun is Saturday from 11-2 at Lee County Alliance of the Arts in Fort Myers. $10

  • Taco Triathalon

    This kicks off Saturday morning at Paradise Coast Sports Complex in Naples. It includes short stretches of exercise that include various combinations of running, cycling and yoga. The reward…tacos at the finish
