The original release dates were already planned but it looks like that had to be changed slightly, which makes 'Deadpool 2' the only X-Men film for 2018.

According to NME, "Dark Phoenix has been pushed back by four months, changing its original release date from November 2, 2018, to February 14, 2019, whereas The New Mutants – which has already had its released date altered from April 13, 2018 to February 22, 2019 – will now hit cinemas August 2, 2019."

No word as to why there was a change, but typically this type of shift is a result of reshoots for the films.

Dark Phoenix will focus on Jean Grey, played by Sophie Turner, and will welcome the return of Michael Fassbender as Magneto.

New Mutants will feature another Game Of Thrones favorite, Maisie Williams, along with a new cast of teen mutants.
