These Are the Places You’re Most Likely to Catch a Virus In The Airport
Planning to travel during the holidays? If you’re going to be flying somewhere, this is good info to have if you want to try to stay healthy this holiday season.
The experts say there are some spots to try to avoid or at the very least make sure to wash your hands after a visit. The usual “dirty” suspects include bathroom handles, kiosk screens, and handrails.
However, one of the germiest places in the airport is actually the security bins. The bins, which come into contact with everything from shoes to diaper bags, are rarely cleaned. Viruses can live on them for up to 48 hours. (I guess I’m going to wipe mine out with a wet wipe from now on.)
Experts advise that passengers carry hand sanitizer and use it immediately after passing through security to avoid catching a virus.
