Camilla Cabello, Lizzo, and Billie Eilish Featured in Elle Magazines ‘Women in Music’ Issue
Congrats to Camilla Cabello, Lizzo, and Billie Eilish for scoring individual covers for Elle’s Women in Music October issue.
In regards to the cover models, Elle praises all three women for their accolades and achievements. “All three artists have achieved tremendous success, and all three have navigated very personal struggles with depression, anxiety, and insecurity. To succeed in music requires support from both fans and peers. Ahead, we champion their wins and losses, and stream them on repeat.”
Each artist has their own write-up in all three magazines. In her interview, Camilla Cabello talks about growing as an artist and being true to herself. “No matter who the person is or how much I want to impress them, I’m not going to let that rule how I act, how open I am, or what my opinion is. I’m just going to be myself. I listen to my gut. That’s all I can do.”
She also talks about falling in love with Shawn Mendes and the media buzz that’s surrounding their relationship. “People can say whatever they want to say. They can speculate, but at the same time, we are going to live our own lives, enjoy it, and fall for each other like nobody is watching.”
In Billie Eilish’s interview, she talks about her family and how supportive they are with her career. “I’m lucky to have a family that I like, and that likes me. The only reason I do what I do is because my parents didn’t force me. If they’d said ‘Here’s a guitar, here’s a microphone, sing and write,’ I would have been like, ‘Goodbye! I’m gonna go do drugs.”
Lizzo explains to Elle that she almost stopped pursuing music because it took so long for people to catch on to her. “I just felt like I was throwing music into the world and not even making a splash. A tree was falling in the forest and not making a sound, you know? I was crying in my room all day. I said, ‘If I stop making music now, nobody would f—ing care.'” Luckily she kept moving forward. “I just made the decision to keep going as an artist. And I’m so grateful I did, but it was by the skin of my teeth.”
