Earlier this morning (January 13), the nominees for the Academy Awards were announced. The winners will be announced at the Oscars, which air on ABC on February 9. Sometimes good guys do come in last: while Avengers: Endgame despite being the highest-grossing film of all time, was snubbed,  Joker led with eleven nominations. Expect the big headlines to be about the lack of diversity in the major nominations and the fact that no women were nominated for Best Director.
