Tamar Braxton Demands Pay For Writing Theme Song To ‘Braxton Family Values’
Tamar Braxton recently took Are we going to talk about pay.... I 100 percent wrote the theme song... where is the coin... our show is on Netflix.... where is the coin... 10 years on The air... we make 75 percent LESS than the kardashians. How come there are no villains on that show🤔 https://t.co/0dIueRQ2Dx
“I wish y’all could work out a deal with a black-owned network,” a fan on Twitter recently tweeted to BET Networks, Own TV, Bounce, and TV One.
“Anyone of them would be ecstatic to have the Braxton Family! We all remember the ratings.” Braxton then retweeted the fans tweet and responded.
“Are we going to talk about pay…I 100 percent wrote the theme song…,” Braxton tweeted. “Where is the coin… Our show is on Netflix….where is the coin… 10 years on The air…”
Braxton also claimed that she and her sisters, Toni, Traci, Trina, and Towanda Braxton make an astronomical amount less than the Kardashians. “We make 75 percent LESS than the Kardashians. How come there are no villains on that show?”
Tamar’s comments come during a time where a myriad of Black women in various arenas are taking to social media to demand equal pay and compensation for work they haven’t been paid and or credited for.
The Braxton sisters were previously at war over contract negotiations for the show, as we previously reported. The cast decided to boycott filming Braxton Family Values because they wanted an increase in salary, but Traci Braxton decided to film and make her coins, which caused a fissure in her relationships with the other Braxton sisters, Tamar, Towanda, Trina, and Toni.
However, the family was able to eventually move forward. “I’m just really glad that everybody’s in a better place,” Tamar told ET. “I love WE tv, and I am excited about our new ventures, and the new relationships. I mean, look, we’ve been together for a long time, and so, that’s expected with any sort of long relationship. So, we’re back. And better than ever.”
