Schools are reopening and students are headed back to class despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
One Florida judge in Leon County ruled against the state's order requiring all brick and mortar schools to open for in-person instruction by the end of August, calling parts of it "unconstitutional," according to NBC2.
In a 16-page decision, Circuit Judge Charles Dodson granted a temporary injunction, putting the decision-making power in the hands of individual districts.
It's unclear how local school boards will react to the ruling since most Florida school districts already reopened brick-and-mortar locations.
The state immediately appealed the ruling, according to WESH2.
We're hoping that all the students stay safe this school year!
