B1039’s ‘Win a Baby’ Contestants Chris and Vy Welcome Newborn
It’s been a long road for Chris and Vy, but after six years of trying to conceive the couple has finally welcomed a healthy baby boy.
The loving couple were the winners of WXKB B103.9’s Second Annual Win a Baby Contest in 2019, where they were asked to share their story for a chance to win a round of in vitro fertilization from IVFMD of Naples.
Like a modern day romance movie, Chris and Vy met online early 2015. Shortly after, Chris flew from Fort Myers to Saigon, Vietnam to meet Vy in person and they decided to travel for three weeks.
One month later, Chris knew she was the one and proposed! The couple had a beautiful traditional wedding in December 2015 and had been trying to start a family since then.
Now, that dream has become a reality. The couple welcomed Bodhi Kai Lee Nguyen on the fourth of July.
“We are so grateful to all of you, for making a very difficult time in our lives turn into pure Joy. Our hearts are so full of Love for our beautiful Son. We both thank you all for making this possible,” Vy said.
The idea to give away a round of in vitro fertilization came about when Jason Jones “Big Mama,” the host of B1039’s #1 hit morning show, Big Mama & the WiLD Bunch, went through the IVF process with his wife, Sara in 2017. They now have a healthy boy named Finnegan.
About one in eight couples in the U.S struggle to conceive a baby, the average fertilization cost per cycle is approximately $23,000. And in most cases, treatment is not covered by insurance.
The “Win a Baby” contest started in 2017 and brought the same joy to the first winners Anthony and Krista Rivera, who welcomed their baby boy named Garrett in August 2019.
“I always say I come in every morning to make miracles happen and to make dreams come true and that’s what I feel like I did with this one,” Big Mama told CBS News in an interview about Anthony and Krista’s successful pregnancy.”
