Country Singer Morgan Wallen Wants To Work With Kendrick Lamar
After getting a No. 1 hit on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart with Lil Durk on “Broadway Girls,” Morgan Wallen, the controversial country singer who was under fire last year for using the N-word, is looking to jump on another hip-hop collab and has his eyes set on Kendrick Lamar.
âI do love Moneybagg [Yo]. Heâs definitely at the top of the list,â Wallen said on Druski’s Clubhouse chat per XXL. âBut like overall, ever…Iâm trying to think of not just in the past little bit. Kendrick Lamar would be pretty cool.â
Wallen revealed that he is a hip-hop fan and his playlists consist of several rappers who’ve made big hits this year, “Moneybagg is probably my favorite. And I listened to a lot of Young DolphâR.I.P. I listened to Drakeâs new album. I listen to Kanye. Iâve been listening to a little bit of Gunna. I like him pretty good.â
During the interview, Wallen revealed how the Lil Durk collab came about. âSo I hit him up,” Wallen recalled. “Me and him had been talking a little bit throughout the year and kind of developed a friendship. I was like, âI donât know if youâre serious or not, but hereâs a couple of versions.â And he took the song. I said, âIâm not gonna put out an album for a while. If you just want to throw this on yours, go ahead.â So he did and Iâm super pumped about it.â Strangely, Druski didn’t ask Wallen about his controversy from last year.
