Staying Awake After Midnight May Make You a Criminal
Staying Awake After Midnight May Make You a Criminal! You Don’t say?! I hope this isn’t true because I stayed up after midnight last night!
Our brains are not designed to be awake AFTER MIDNIGHT, according to Mass General Research Institute researchers who claim to have scientific proof of this.
The Study Finding:
In an article I read from Study Finds, the key premise is that since your internal circadian clock is set to sleep after midnight, staying up causes alterations in the brain that lead people to have a pessimistic perspective on the world.
Well, that just sounds stupid. What do they know anyway? They probably got paid to do this study by a mattress company. What? Am I being pessimistic?
Criminal Minds:
Anyway, staying up might encourage more impulsive behavior and risky choices… such as using alcohol, eating too much, gambling, and committing crimes. I wonder, if you eat after midnight, will you turn into a gremlin too? Also, drinking, eating, partying, and gambling is the reason we stay up anyway!
Like it’s literally the reason most of us are awake after midnight! This study better not cost a lot. Who is paying for this nonsense? I really hope this isn’t a government study. What’s next? A study finds that lack of sleep makes you tired.
Of course, not everyone who stays up late at night is out at the club partying; some are employed as police officers, pilots, and healthcare professionals. The findings, according to the researchers, could affect such individuals with “major consequences,” such as how they behave or make decisions at work. Hmm…
Dumb work decisions. I haven’t made one of those in the last 10 seconds or so.

Having said that, if you stay up late—whether by choice or necessity—don’t panic just yet. The researchers are hoping that additional research will be done.
