Ariana Grande recently took to TikTok to address a comment she received that bluntly asked, "wHy AreN'T yOu A sInGer AnyMoRee?!?!?" The Grammy-winning pop star has been busy filming the musical film Wicked: Part One, an alternate look at the land of Oz, based off the hit Broadway screenplay.

In the best way to respond to that, Ariana, who plays Glinda in the 2024 film, sang a beautiful rendition of "Over the Rainbow." She captioned the TikTok, which she posted Friday (January 20): "wanted to sing you a little something but don’t want to sing anything that is not 'Ozian' at the moment :) keeping to my little bubble for now … done with lots of love." The 29-year-old singer was wrapped in an oversized knitted pink hooded cardigan. Around her, she added text that read: "mid getting ready," "hiding Galinda's hair" and "is literally on set filming two musical movies all day every day." In April, director Jon M. Chu announced that his Wicked project will consist of not one but two movies, hence the "Part One" in the upcoming 2024 film.

One person commented on the TikTok, "her voice has matured sm and i love it." Another said, "she still got it." One fan said, "I NEEDED THIS." While another gushed, "the most angelic person alive." "I MISSED THAT VOICE," commented another fan.

Ariana is joined by castmates Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero, Ethan Slater will play Boq, Michelle Yeoh is taking on the role of Madame Morrible and Jeff Goldblum has been cast as the Wizard. Erivo reposted Grande's video on her Instagram Stories, praising her co-star: "She is and always will be a singer, she just happens to be able to do more than that!!!" Erivo, 36, wrote. "Now…as you were…we're working!!!"

Kristin Chenoweth, who played Glinda the Good Witch in the original Broadway production talked of Ariana taking over the movie role during an episode of Watch What Happens Live earlier this week. "She's going to put her own stamp on it," she told host Andy Cohen. "I'm so proud of her. I wanted her to do her Glinda. And that's what she's doing. I'm proud of her."
