Costumed Crime: Orlando’s Joker Faces Serious Charges
A pedicab ride in Orlando turned into a real-life Joker encounter. Brandon Juwan Morris, a 30-year-old pedicab driver with a questionable sense of costume choice, is now facing a lineup of felony charges after allegedly turning a Halloween fare dispute into a full-blown crime scene.
According to the Smoking Gun, this Joker, complete with a ‘Damaged’ tattoo on his forehead, engaged in a 2:15 AM showdown across from Orlando’s City Hall. The spat revolved around a $15 charge, triggering not one or two but an impressive eleven 911 calls. Move over, Gotham because Orlando’s got its own version of the Dark Night.
Reports suggest that Morris, in his Joker getup, threw his customer, Debra Smoot, to the ground like a true villain. But the drama didn’t stop there. Morris allegedly went through Smoot’s belongings, snagging some cash from her wallet.
Joker Justice:
When the cops showed up, they found Smoot on the ground, ‘crying and yelling,’ with legs that looked more like they had auditioned for a horror movie. Witnesses, not just figments of our imagination, confirmed Smoot’s tale of being tossed around like a Joker playing card.
As Morris was apprehended, he claimed a convenient case of selective amnesia, vehemently denying any physical altercation. But, surprise, surprise, a search of his person revealed an army green bag of tricks, including a Taurus pistol ready for some real-life action. Not exactly the comedic props you’d expect from a Joker, right?
Charged with battery, robbery, and possession of a firearm during a felony, Morris managed to escape the clutches of justice by posting a $10,500 bond. It seems this pedicab Joker is more of a Houdini in the legal circus. Who needs Gotham when Orlando has its own peculiar blend of costumed criminals?
