In a new interview with Elle published Thursday (November 30), the "Let's Get Loud" singer expressed how she aims to do everything men do. And to do so while looking hot. With her company Nuyorican Productions, she has produced films Hustlers, The Mother, and TV series The Fosters and Shades of Blue.
Women Can Do Anything Men Can Do
The mother of two tells the publication she wants to tell uplifting, empowering, and entertaining stories, along with gangster movies. She doesn’t like the notion that women only want to see love stories or romantic comedies. Lopez points out that women have been leaders of countries, have run empires, and more. As we previously reported, Lopez is releasing her highly anticipated new album, This Is Me… Now, along with its lead single and a companion film in early 2024.
Elsewhere in the interview, Lopez addressed the rise of acting roles for older women. She says it’s appropriate. "As you get older and you have more experience, you become a richer human being and you have more to offer," the mother of two states. "The idea of, ‘There’s nothing really valuable about watching a woman over 30’ is so ridiculous, it’s the opposite of right. It just makes me laugh." Lopez is proof of this when she says people have realized that "women just get sexier as they get older." The wisdom and character richness are all very attractive from the inside out, Lopez adds. As for how far she sees herself working in the entertainment industry, J.Lo sees herself working as long as she wants to. Without setting a limit on when that may be, she declares, "It’s there for me if I want it and I want to create it."
