Yesterday, we reported that Jessica Simpson was disappointed in Natalie Portman for a seemingly unwarranted attack.
If you’re just tuning into the drama, Portman recently did an interview where she mentioned seeing Simpson on the cover of a magazine in a bikini.
At the time, Portman was a teen and the message of Simpson flaunting her body as a virgin confused her.
Naturally, Simpson had something to say about the interview.
After Jessica gave Natalie a piece of her mind, Portman responded in the comment section on Instagram and apologized.
She also issued a statement to Entertainment Tonight.
In the statement, she said that it was wrong of her to name anyone during the interview, and she undoubtedly, but unintentionally, caused hurt with her words.
According to Natalie, she was not trying to insult Simpson, rather she was trying to highlight the mixed messages the media sends to young woman.
The incident between Simpson and Portman is a good reminder that celebs are not immune to hurt feelings and that we should all aim to be more careful with our words.
