Lady Gaga Wins Best Original Song Oscar, Delivers Touching Speech About Never Giving Up

Lady Gaga has another major trophy to add to her collection: The A Star Is Born actress just took home the Oscar for the Best Original Song for “Shallow.”
Gaga, along with Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando and Andrew Wyatt, won the award for the hit film’s main track. They accepted the Oscar just minutes after Gaga and Bradley Cooper performed a stirring and emotional rendition of the song.

It was Lady Gaga’s first Academy Award win, which she tearfully accepted. Her speech was one of the night’s most moving.
“If you are at home and you’re sitting on your couch and you’re watching this right now, all I have to say is that this is hard work,” Gaga said. “I’ve worked hard for a long time. And it’s not about winning — it’s about not giving up. If you have a dream, fight for it.”
“But what it’s about is not giving up,” Gaga added. “If you have a dream, fight for it. If there’s a discipline for passion, it’s not about how many times you get rejected or fall down or beaten up. It’s about how many times you stand up and are brave. And you keep going.”
