Reports are coming out that the surprising college fraud scheme that involved celebrities was found by the FBI on accident.

According to the FBI, Operation Varsity Blues became a big thing because of a tip from someone in a totally unrelated case.

As a result of the tip, fifty parents and coaches were charged with being part of the scheme that involved bribes that totaled over $6 million to get their kids into “elite” schools.

Notable names of people charged are actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Laughlin.
