On Thursday (Aug. 22) news broke that MTV would be presenting a Missy Elliott pop-up museum in New York City to coincide with the Grammy Award-winning rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer being honored on Monday (Aug. 26) with the network’s Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award during their annual Video Music Awards ceremony, and fans of Elliott went crazy.

Ticket reservations for the pop-up museum were free, but they went in “60 seconds flat,” as MTV told Page Six. Those who were lucky enough to have snagged tickets during the frenzy will get a chance to try on Elliott’s iconic garbage bag outfit from the Virginia native’s 1997 “The Rain” music video, take flicks within installations from “Gossip Folks,” “Lose Control,” ” and “Sock It 2 Me,” and kick it in the “Supa Dupa Fly Lounge.”

The museum will also have a manicure bar that’s Missy-themed, so “fly gals” can “get their nails done, get a pedicure,” as Elliott once rapped.

“Missy Elliott is a creative genius whose contribution to music and pop culture can be felt across generations,” said Mona Scott-Young, CEO of Monami Entertainment and Elliott’s longtime manager, in a press release. “I’m honored to have worked with her for over 20 years and proud to call her my friend. The fans deserve and the world is ready for a museum that celebrates Missy Elliott and her iconic, record-breaking career.”

“It has been my distinct honor and privilege to have been fortunate enough to costume design for Missy for so many years, a true labor of love. I wish to congratulate Missy, Hype Williams, HiHat and all the many creatives whose amazing work will be on display at the Museum of Missy Elliott,” costume designer June Ambrose said of Elliott.

The pop-up museum honoring the iconic artist will be located at 632 Broadway in New York City, and is open to ticket holders on Saturday, Aug. 24 from 11 a.m. and on Sunday, Aug. 25, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The VMAs air live on Monday, Aug. 26, at 8 p.m. on MTV.
