Hailey Bieber Shuts Down Trolls ‘Making Fun Of’ Justin Bieber’s Lyme Disease
After revealing he’s been diagnosed with Lyme disease, Justin Bieber is dealing with the trolls who are trying to downplay the severity of his news. But, his wife Hailey has his back, clapping back at trolls who are making fun of him.
“For those who are trying to downplay the severity of Lyme disease. Please do your research and listen to the stories of people who have suffered with it for years,” she tweeted. “Making fun of and belittling a disease you don’t understand is never the way, all it takes is educating yourself.”
That included Hailey who thanked Bella and Gigi Hadid, along with their mom Yolanda, whose own Lyme disease is in remission, for “bringing me so much clarity and information on Lyme disease and for helping answer my questions about course of action, symptoms etc.”
Lyme disease is an inflammatory disease caused by a tick bite that results in fatigue, joint and muscle pain, and flu-like symptoms. While it is curable, those diagnosed with the disease can experience long term effects.
On Instagram, Bieber opened up about his recent diagnosis and revealed he also “had a serious case of chronic mono which affected my, skin, brain function, energy, and overall health.” He wrote that he will talk more about his health in his upcoming YouTube docuseries Seasons, premiering Jan. 27.
“It’s been a rough couple years,” he wrote, “but getting the right treatment that will help treat this so far incurable disease and I will be back and better than ever NO CAP.”
