Is George Stephanopoulos Eyeing Alex Trebek’s ‘Jeopardy!’ Gig?
According to a source, George Stephanopoulos has his eyes set on Alex Trebek’s Jeopardy! gig.
Per the New York Post, the Good Morning America host has been actively chasing the role. He even went on The Howard Stern show earlier this year and mentioned he was interested in it, but said that taking over for Trebek would be “big shoes to fill.”
He said, “I think it would be a lot of fun. But I like what I’m doing, too.”
The outlet adds that ABC has denied that George is pursuing the role. A source adds, “Of course he’s not lobbying … how disrespectful would that be to Alex’s family.”
Alex Trebek died Sunday (November 8) after battling pancreatic cancer.
