Florida woman wins $1 million on scratch-off ticket, finishes shift before cashing in
Florida Woman Reports to Work after Winning $1M Lottery Prize While some people would likely quit their jobs on the spot after winning the lottery, Jacksonville resident Wilma Todd diligently reported to work and completed her entire shift after winning $1 million from a scratch-off lottery ticket.
However, in all fairness, Todd says she mistakenly believed she’d won only $100,000 when she reported to work. It wasn’t until after her shift that she learned of her error.
“After work, I picked up my granddaughter and handed her my ticket,” the 69-year-old says. “She turned to me and said, ‘Nana, you didn’t win $100,000 — you won $1 million!’ Needless to say I was in complete shock.”
Although she’s now a millionaire, Todd says she plans to continue reporting to work — but only until her replacement is trained.
Would you continue working if you won a million dollars?
