Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon In Orlando Has Reopening Date For 2023 Season
I love a good water park and one of my favorites, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon in Orlando has a reopening date for the 2023 season.
Last May I went to Typhoon Lagoon for the first time since I was a kid. It was just as fun as I remembered it being when I was 10. There’s something about a water park that brings out the kid in you, no matter what age you are. The wave pool, the water slides, the lazy river…it’s all so much fun.
Typhoon Lagoon has announced they will officially reopen for the 2023 season on March 19th. On that same day, Blizzard Beach will close temporarily for refurbishment.
There’s so much fun to be had at Typhoon Lagoon. One of my favorite rides is Miss Adventure Falls which is a family raft ride. I also love Castaway Creek, a lazy river that goes around the entire park. Instead of walking from slide to slide or to grab a cocktail or a bite to eat, you can take the lazy river for a scenic float. Can’t forget about The Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool which puts out some of the biggest waves I’ve ever seen in my life. Such a blast!
According to Walt Disney World News Today, they’ve got some new menu options for this year too. On a hot day, a DOLE Whip hits the spot. Typhoon Lagoon will have some new flavors including watermelon, mango, pineapple, strawberry and raspberry. Also new this year a Pineapple Upside Down Cone and a BBQ Chicken & Grilled Pineapple Flatbread. New adult beverages this year include the Kungaloosh Kooler, Crush ‘N’ Gushed Red & White Sangrias and the Mayday Mojito Flight.
H20 Glow After Hours returns this year as well. If you want to enjoy the park, but after the sun goes down, starting May 20th, you can do just that.
H2O Glow After Hours lights will start up for select nights on May 20 through Sept. 2.

Two Florida Beaches Make Tripadvisor's List Of Best In The US
Living in Florida, we’re no stranger to beautiful beaches and two beaches in the Sunshine State made Tripadvisor’s list of the best in the US.
As a kid, my family had a house on Clearwater Beach. That was the beach I spent the most time on and it’s still one of my favorites. The sugar sand, beautiful clear water, the walkability of the beach too. So many fun bars and restaurants to hop around to up and down the beach. It was that beach that made me want to make Florida my full-time home. While I live further south, I’ve taken quite a liking to our beaches here in SWFL. Sanibel is just minutes away from me and while things definitely look different since the hurricane, we’re so lucky to live in such a beautiful place with a coastline of beaches to play on.
What makes a good beach?
When it comes to finding the perfect beach, there are certain things that make a beach stand out from the rest. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful setting, adventure or simply a beautiful place to relax and soak up the sun, the best beaches typically have a few key features. The best beaches have crystal-clear waters that are perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Soft, powdery sand is essential. Not only is it comfortable to walk on, but it’s also perfect for building sandcastles and lying out in the sun. A beautiful view also adds to the overall experience.
The best beaches are easily accessible too. If it’s too hard to find a beach entrance or a parking space, you’d probably leave pretty quick. A clean beach is a must too. No one wants to relax on a beach littered with trash. Safety is always a top priority. Whether there are clearly marked swimming areas and lifeguards on duty during peak season. Or signs indicating red tide or any potential hazards such as rip currents or jellyfish. A beach that offers activities like surfing, paddle boarding or kayaking can be a great option for those seeking adventure. Of course, having a variety of restaurants, cafes, and shops in the area for visitors to explore is fun too.
