When Will We See Pumpkin Spice At Coffee Shops In Southwest Florida?
Ahhh…it’s that time of year..kids are going back to school, the leaves are (not) starting to change color, the temperatures are (not) going down..so when will we see pumpkin spice at coffee shops in Southwest Florida?
Yes, here in Fort Myers, it certainly doesn’t feel like fall, nor will it come September 23, the first official day of the season. Usually Labor Day is the unofficial end of the summer, at least it was when I lived up north in Illinois. It was the last weekend for the bars on the water and the weekend that boats and pools would be winterized. Thankfully here that’s not the case. However, if you’re looking for a chill in the air so you can make the switch from sandals to boots, it might be awhile.
But if you’ve been to the store in the last few weeks, you’d think fall holidays are right around the corner. When you walk into Target, you’re greeted by all the cute fall decorations for Thanksgiving. And the Halloween section is full of outdoor decor as well.
So when will pumpkin spice be in coffee shops in Southwest Florida?
If you go to the grocery store, you can buy all the pumpkin spice your heart desires. Yesterday at Publix I saw all the coffee on display and creamers as well. 7-11 and Speedway rolled out their pumpkin spice coffee, pumpkin spice latte and pumpkin syrup on August 1. Krispy Kreme began selling their pumpkin spice coffee and pumpkin spice latte the other day, as well as a bunch of pumpkin donuts.
If you’re waiting for pumpkin to make it’s way into Starbucks and Dunkin’ you’ll have to wait a little longer. At Dunkin’, pumpkin drinks return on August 16. At Starbucks, the official launch date has yet to be confirmed. However, rumor has it that August 24th is go-time.
