14 Florida Schools Named 2023 National Blue Ribbon Schools
U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona recognized 353 schools as National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2023, including 14 schools in Florida. The recognition is based on a school’s overall academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups on assessments. Unfortunately, this year we are not seeing any schools out of Southwest Florida.
The Florida schools recognized were:
- Alachua Learning Academy in Alachua
- Don Estridge High Tech Middle School in Boca Raton
- Doral Academy of Technology Charter Middle School in Doral
- Edgewood Jr/Sr High School in Merritt Island
- Hollywood Academy Of Arts And Science in Hollywood
- MAST@FIU Biscayne Bay Campus in North Miami
- Okaloosa STEMM Center in Valparaiso
- Pine View School in Osprey
- Professional and Technical High School in Kissimmee
- Queen Of Peace Catholic Academy in Gainesville
- St. Petersburg Collegiate High School in St. Petersburg
- Suncoast Community High School in Riviera Beach
- Sunset Elementary School in Miami
- The Children’s Reading Center in Palatka
Blue Ribbon Schools
The National Blue Ribbon Program has presented close to 10,000 awards to more than 9,700 schools. The award validates the hard work of students, educators, families, and communities in striving for – and attaining – exemplary achievement. National Blue Ribbon represents the full diversity of American schools and serve students of every background.
