Dog Encounters Gigantic Python In Cape Coral
This is becoming a little too frequent for my liking and a dog encountered a gigantic python in Cape Coral.
I hate snakes. Always have, always will. They’re an animal that thankfully has been pretty contained to the Everglades, however that’s starting to change. It’s getting a little too close for comfort that Burmese python sightings have been happening in Cape Coral lately. Just a few weeks ago, I reported on a couple in Cape Coral that came home from vacation to a 9-foot python near their garbage cans. And now there’s been another sighting of these slithery creatures in the Cape.

Lexi Pantelup of Cape Coral woman says that her dog began barking while he was outside, then yelped which told her something was wrong. It was then that she saw the gigantic snake. This sighting freaked her out so much she told NBC2 she’s ready to put her house up for sale! She wants this to be a word of caution to others to be aware that these creatures are migrating and could very well be in your yard too.
Pantelup says she called Florida Fish and Wildlife (FWC), but because she didn’t have proof of the sighting, they were unable to help. FWC says if you see a Burmese python to take a picture, note your location and call the FWC’s Exotic Species Hotline to report the sighting at 888-483-4681.
