This is news some won’t want to hear that a popular Cape Coral restaurant will be closing its doors on December 30th.
We all have our favorite restaurants and bars. Those that we feel comfortable if want to stop in alone. Those we bring friends to that come to visit from out of town. Those that are perfect for a family dinner. The ones we keep in mind for a perfect date night. And Nevermind in Cape Coral could very well be possibly all of those things to some. Unfortunately for those people, they’ll soon have to find a new destination, as the bar and restaurant has announced they will be closing their doors at the end of this month.

Nevermind Awesome Bar & Eatery opened in 2012 at 927 Cape Coral Parkway. It was founded by chef Shannon Yates, who unfortunately passed away in 2022 due to complications with COVID. The bar and restaurant is now saying goodbye to South Cape. And much like we ring in the new year big, they’ll be going out that way. According to a post on their Facebook page, they’ll be having a block party on December 30th to say farewell. The party will start at noon and include live entertainment by DJ Brian Savage and DJ Big John. And while they’re saying goodbye to their location on Cape Coral Parkway, it looks like they’re hoping to reopen in a new location sometime after the start of 2024.
If you want to stop in before the block party, they are open Christmas Eve from noon on. Closed on Christmas Day and back to regular hours on Tuesday.
10 Restaurants In SWFL Open On Christmas Eve And Day 2023
It’s hard to believe
Christmas is this weekend already and if you’re wondering if there are any restaurants open on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day in SWFL, the answer is
YES!
It’s that time of year when we gather with family and friends to celebrate the holidays. There’s a lot going on this time of year between Christmas parties at work, with friends and the overall hustle and bustle. The idea of cooking on Christmas might not be something you’re looking forward to. I absolutely love the holidays. But hosting at my home in Fort Myers is just a little too overwhelming. The amount of food I would need to cook is a bit outside of my skill level. Sure, I could order in and have it catered, but that’s a lot of planning too.
This year Christmas Eve arrives on Sunday and Christmas Day on Monday. You may be excited to see family and friends, sharing a meal and gifting, but what do you do if you don’t want to cook? The good thing, is that there are plenty of places this year where you can enjoy a delicious holiday meal with no prep and no dishes to worry about afterwards.
While Sunday and Monday are days that some restaurants are normally closed, some will open for Christmas. You’ll definitely want to call and double check hours and availability, just in case reservations are required.
Thanks to News-Press, here are 10 local restaurants to SWFL, particularly Fort Myers, Cape Coral and Bonita Springs that are open on Christmas Eve and/or Day this year. You can see their full list here. Many restaurant chains and fast food spots will be open as well. Merry Christmas!
