Madonna Apologizes For Telling Wheelchair-Bound Concertgoer To Stand
Madonna accidentally made a fool of herself over the weekend when she called out a concertgoer for not standing up. However, what the “Queen of Pop” didn’t seem to realize was that her fan was wheelchair-bound and could not stand as she commanded the audience.
How Madonna Quickly Humbled Herself
While performing in Los Angeles on Saturday (March 9), the “Material Girl” singer declared to her crowd: “Fight this ride with me!” Seeing one audience member not standing with the rest, she rasped, “What are you doing sitting down over there?!” Asking again with her hands extending upwards, she added, “What are you doing sitting down?” Snatching the microphone off the stand, Madge, 65, walked closer to the edge of the stage to take a closer look at the fan she obviously thought was defying her on purpose.
The moment of realization hit the Grammy winner quickly then, as we hear her say, “Oh, okay… Politically incorrect — sorry about that. I’m glad you’re here, ” she told the fan quickly gesturing towards them. Some laughter is heard from the crowd, and as the star reclaims her place center stage, she exclaims, “Oh. My. God!”

At another point during the same concert, Madonna was joined on stage by fellow pop superstar Kylie Minogue to perform together for the first time ever. Following the concert, Minogue posted to Instagram and shared a video of herself grooving to “Ray of Light” as Madonna performed at the venue. “MADONNA It’s been a long time coming!!! LOVED being with you!!!! Celebration Tour AND it is now International Women’s Day,” she captioned the clip. “THANK YOU and LOVE LOVE LOVE.”

Madonna posted the two performing a slowed-down, stripped version of Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive.” Following the song, the two singers started singing Minogue’s 2001 hit, “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head” a capella as Madonna humps Minogue’s leg. Donatella Versace commented on the clip, “Two iconic superstars! Proud to call you my friends [pink heart emojis].” One fan swooned, “my two idols together [red heart emoji] thank you for this moms.”
