2 Florida Men Robbed A Hardware Store With The Help Of A Lawn Mower
Every now and again you read a story that truly makes you say “huh?” and this did it for me as 2 Florida men robbed a hardware store with the help of a lawn mower.
We hear stories about the antics of the Florida Man all the time. And in this case, it was 2 geniuses at work. There is always a reason why criminals get caught. Either their plan was never very smart to begin with, or it was what they did after they committed the crime that does them in. No matter what, we see these guys making headlines constantly and at this point nothing really should shock me.
2 Florida Men Robbed A Hardware Store With The Help Of A Lawn Mower
Enter 41 year-old Joshua Reffitt and 23 year-old Roy Perrott. They decided it was a good idea to take a leisurely trip to the Ace Hardware in Eustis. According to News6, police got a call for a burglary at the store. The arrest affidavit says when they arrived they found muddy tracks from a lawn mower around the building along with a face mask. Deputies also saw a fence that appeared to be cut open and a security camera sprayed with white paint. The store manager reported that 2 pressure washers and a generator were stolen.
Upon further investigation and review of surveillance footage, they saw one of the suspects riding on a lawn mower with a trailer behind it. The other suspect showed up after and helped load the stolen goods onto the trailer and then the lawn mower took off.
Now Reffitt wanted to be the good guy and threw his buddy under the bus saying that he told him not to steal anything. But good guy he was not, as he was found with meth in his pocket.
The good news is that the stolen goods were recovered. The bad news for Reffitt and Perrott is that they were both arrested and now facing a slew of charges.
