‘Avengers: Endgame’ Passes $2 Billion at the Box Office
It’s the second highest grossing film of all time, and it’s only been out for two weeks.
Mild Avengers: Endgame spoilers ahead. If you haven’t seen the film yet, that’s on you.
Thanos couldn’t stop the “World’s Mightiest Superheroes,” and it looks like Avatar, which is the highest grossing film of all time, might not be able to stop them, either. Avatar grossed $2.78 billion, and Avengers: Endgame is close behind, with $2.188 billion. Endgame, however, hit the $2 billion mark faster than any other film ever has; it took Avatar 47 days to hit that number, according to Variety.
Spider-Man, one of the many heroes to appear in Endgame, appears next in Spider-Man: Far From Home, due out in July (it dropped a new trailer this morning). Although the Spider-Man franchise is a Sony property, other Marvel Cinematic Universe characters will appear in the film, including Iron Man’s pal Happy Hogan, and former SHIELD agents Nick Fury and Maria Hill. Iron Man’s memory also seems to be a plotpoint in the film, judging from the trailer.
After Spider-Man: Far From Home, there are no other release dates scheduled.
