Southwest Florida’s Redneck Mud Park May Be Featured In The New Grand Theft Auto VI
When Rockstar Games dropped a trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, it confirmed suspicions that they game was based in Miami, Florida. Well, not really. The game calls Miami ‘Vice City’ in the state of Leonida. This is a return to Vice City as the fourth GTA was there as well. But in that installment, the players only explored Vice City (Miami). GTA VI looks to expand upon that map and have players traveling through a swampy area to a section that looks a lot like Southwest Florida. As excited as we are to play a game with missions based in Fort Myers or Naples, there’s nothing specific to that in the trailer. However, there’s a short clip that looks a lot like the Redneck Mud Park in Punta Gorda, Florida. Check out what happens at 55 seconds in.
The logo is pale on the screen but it reads “Thrillbilly Mud Club.” It appears to be an off road motorsports park with lots of partying and mud. I mean, c’mon. The same bikini, the mud, the partying. It certainly looks familiar.
We already had an idea a year ago that the Fort Myers area might be dramatized in the new Grand Theft Auto VI. But here’s another clue. Look at the Thrillbilly Mud Club logo on the trailer. Compare that with the Redneck Mud Park Logo.
Maybe it’s accidental, but the logos are very similar.
Grand Theft Auto VI
Here’s the part we’ll be waiting for. Is the “Thrillbilly Mud Club” just a cutscene in the game? Will it be a playable area where you can race a 4 wheel or off road vehicle? GTA V certainly had it’s share of races and time trials. Will there be missions that include that famous mud hole? What about some of the on stage contests? We won’t know for a quite awhile as the game won’t be released until 2025. If you can’t wait and want to get a taste of what might be in the game, the Redneck Mud Park’s next big event is in March.
