Why COVID-19 Surcharges Are Being Added To Your Take-out Bill
Why COVID-19 Surcharges Are Being Added to Your Take-Out Bill If you have been ordering take-out during the pandemic and not looking closely at your receipt you may have missed something. It is something called a COVID-19 surcharge. A customer took the issue to Twitter by posting their receipt and tagging the restaurant. The restaurant explained that the surcharge was implemented in May due to the increased price for meat, seafood and vegetables from their local supplier.
They posted about the additional charge in the store and everyone was fine with it but once it went viral they got attacked. Some customers were understanding about the charge while others said it was not fair as people have lost income. What do you think of the surcharge?
